Dogs do suffer from ‘Home Alone Syndrome’ or what is also known as ‘Separation Anxiety’. Many dog owners believe that once they close the front door to go to work, their pet is relaxing on the sofa patiently awaiting their return. Research found a different picture after placing cameras in the homes of 50 owners who all believed their dog was content to be left alone. Footage showed some dogs pacing around in circles at the door, panting heavily, whining and barking continuously. Dogs get anxious and bored when left alone for the day that they often chew through furniture, rip their beds in distress, and even tear wallpaper off the walls. Owners have got frustrated thinking they had a ‘bad dog’ (there is no such thing) when all you have is a bored and frustrated one!
 So with this in mind our Day-care is designed for owners who wish to drop their dog off in the morning and collect them in the evening. All dogs attending day-care are closely monitored and supervised to promote & teach proper play and social behaviour. Dogs are pack animals and attending day-care has amazing results in your dog’s behaviour and state of mind. It teaches them invaluable social skills, and gives them the exercise and mental stimulation they need. Higher energy dogs are given a proper outlet for all of that pent up energy, so when you come home after a long days’ work you can relax and enjoy your dog’s well behaved company. The day-care programme is rotated between our indoor and outdoor play areas.
Our indoor area has under floor heating, and equipped with special rubber flooring for safety, with lots of toys and games to play and stimulate your dog’s mind. Our outdoor playground is full of adventure with tunnels; agility jumps, splash pools and more.We have separate play areas which can be used for either smaller dogs, pups or even the slightly shyer dogs that need a little more time to join in. A typical day for your dog can include daily pack walks to the lake, canine games, social interaction, agility, puppy adventure and play; treats are included with rest periods in between.
And after a day of Play – You can Stay!
 Luxury Boarding – The confinement of Kennels are very unnatural to dogs. They need to be interacting with their own species and us throughout the day. We domesticated them so it is our responsibility to give them what they need. Dogs get very withdrawn and anxious when left all day with nothing to do but stare at 4 walls feeling abandoned and pine for their owners. So here at The Dog Ranch we have taken boarding to a whole new level. All overnight guests are included in our day-care programme during the day, with all day play & socialisation, pack walks to the lake, constant supervision, games and more. At the end of the fun filled day all of our overnight campers sleep in heated dens in our indoor play area. With only 10 private Dens we offer an exclusive stay, giving each dog plenty of one to one attention with us. And you also get a Video Link sent to you while you are away, so you can see how much fun your dog is having – Priceless!
Behaviour Clinic – For when your dog needs that little bit extra….
We offer a full Behavioural Clinic service at our centre or in the comfort of your home. We cover all behavioural issues that owners experience with their dogs, like aggression towards other dogs or people, Destruction, Separation Anxiety, Anti-social behaviour, excessive barking, crate training, puppy rearing and more. We use positive reward and behaviour modification techniques specific to your dog’s needs. You get a report after the initial one to one with you and a full training schedule done out specifically for you and your dog’s needs, plus a month’s follow up by phone and email.

Safety is our Number 1 Concern
* All dogs for their safety are professionally Temperament Assessed prior to Boarding to make sure they are safe, happy and comfortable.
* Dogs must be up-to-date with all vaccinations including Kennel Cough and
Adult Male dogs must be Neutered
* Puppies must be a minimum of 12 weeks of age and be fully vaccinated
